Like everything, sweeteners exist on a spectrum, and from a nutritional perspective, some sweeteners are quantifiably worse than others (like High Fructose Corn Syrup) or better than others. It's not just about the glycemic index, or trace nutrients, either. It's also about the quantity consumed, sustainability and ease of use.
We don't say sugar or sweetener is "healthy," with medicinal benefits or claim it's diet food, because sugar is sugar. But we do use the better and more natural sweetener we know of and use it in moderation.
